Jeannette Meier Oatman died March 24, 2017 at the age of 91.
She was born February 1, 1926 at Cross Plains, IN. to
William and Edith (nee Smith) Meier. She became a child of
God through Baptism on March 7, 1926. She attended St.
Paul’s Lutheran one-room school for 8 years, taught by the
Pastor. She renewed her Baptismal vow through the Rite of
Confirmation in March of 1941 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,
Cross Plains, IN.
She was united in marriage to Floyd Oatman on August 31,
1947 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Their union was blessed
with four children, Theresa, Bruce, Dean and Mark.
Jeannette loved her church and was active in it in many ways
– Sunday School teacher, member of the altar guild, adult
and handbell choirs, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and
loved making banners for the church sanctuary.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd, her 4 children, 3
daughters-in-law, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for April 8, 2017 at 11 AM
at Grace Lutheran Church, 2825 Alameda de Las Pulgas, San
Mateo 94403. Luncheon will follow.
She now rests with her Savior. To God be the Glory.
