Lois G. Masciola

March 16, 1939 - July 1, 2021


Lois Elizabeth Masciola was born March 16, 1939 in Newark New Jersey to Clarence and Elizabeth Gockeler. She lived in the Bloomfield area growing up and spent a lot of time down the shore with her best friend Natalie. Lois attended Westside high school and graduated in 1957 she was married to Bob Masciola on April 11, 1959 and then moved with him across the country the next year to begin life in California originally to San Francisco but settling a few years later and San Mateo together they raised two children and owns several dry cleaning stores with family members they were married for 44 years until Bob passed away in 2003.

 

She was a stay at home mom until her youngest was 14 years old. She then went back to work and worked at companies like Allyn and Bacon, Motorola, Visa and Hewlett-Packard. She also attended College of San Mateo part time and earned a AA degree in Business Management in 1987. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of San Mateo where she served as a deacon, and was a member of the Rebecca circle – serving as leader for several years. She was also a longtime member of the Independent Order of Foresters and took every opportunity to travel by charted bus to Reno to visit her cousin She retired from Hewlett-Packard in 2010 and enjoy taking day trips with her daughter and son-in-law.

 

She passed away peacefully on July 1, 2021. She survived my daughter Christine Pearce and son-in-law James Pearce as well as son Robert Masciola and daughter-in-law Jeanine Masciola along with twin grandchildren Nathan Masciola and Nicole Masciola Martin.

 

There will be a burial service at Skylawn Memorial Park on Highway 92 on Friday, August 27 at 11 AM followed by a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church of San Mateo at 1 PM

 

In Lou of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of San Mateo in Lois’ name. Donations can be mailed to the church at 194 West 25th Ave., San Mateo CA 94403

I'm so sorry to have missed ur service.i really wanted to b there,however....life hasn't been very cooperative lately.but I know my mother and Lois were long time friends.so missing out on saying my goodbyes in person is a bummer,but I am sending all our love and sincere condolences. Our moms r most likely sitting on a cloud shaking their heads at us now!!laughing at us. . .. "what r they going to do with all that junk now!!!" That's what my mom's saying for sure!!! So chris,when, u figure that one out let me know too!! Love u !!! Ur mom will b missed!!! My mom' is missed Rip lois!!!! .

Condolences to all the family. I met Lois back in kindergarten and we had many fun times together. I will miss her.
