Jose Galaviz Jr.

Jose Galaviz Jr. “Pepe”, 82 years old, was born in La Mesa, New Mexico on April 5, 1936 to Jose and
Angela Galaviz.

Pepe suffered from multiple health complications and passed away on May 6, 2018 in San Jose, CA with his family in presence. Pepe had been a resident of San Jose for over 50 years, where he helped raise his family.

In 1956, Pepe joined the US Navy. From 1956 thorough 1957, he was abroad the USS Comstock LSD-19. He retired from the Navy in 1962 and eventually moved his family to San Jose, CA.

Pepe grew up in El Paso Texas where he met his first love, Otilia “Tille” Ramirez. Together they had
six children. Charlie, Willie, Delma, Joey, Angie and Erma. He later remarried to Delia Mejia. Throughout his lifetime, he worked as a cannery worker, and a farm worker, a body and fender man and a CET Instructor. Of all his trades, being a body and fender man for over 30 years was his true passion.

In Pepe’s spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, going deep sea fishing, camping, dancing (the jitterbug)
, demonstrating magic tricks to his grandchildren, playing a game of solitaire and spending quality time with his long time sweetheart Nina. He was considered by all to be a generous, fun loving man who had a great sense of humor.

Pepe is preceded in death by his parents: Jose and Angela Galaviz, three of his brothers: Alfredo, Tachy and Benny, as well as his son Jose Galaviz “Joey”.. He is survived by his sweetheart Nina, siblings, Yolanda, Josie and Sonny, his son, Charlie Glaviz and his wife Joyce Glaviz, his son Willie, his daughters, Delma, Angie and Irma and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pepe will be greatly missed by all.
